Ivan Wayne Riley

Ivan Wayne Riley, 80, of Richmond, died Monday, May 25, 2015, at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Richmond.

Wayne was born Oct. 5, 1934, in Mayview, to Hubert and Vivian (Clay) Riley. He first married Sharon Stigall, of Henrietta, July 6, 1956; she preceded him in death Oct. 17, 1993. He later married Sandra F. McElwee, of Richmond, May 5, 2011; she survives of the home.

Additional survivors include: one son, Aaron Riley, of Richmond; two daughters and one son-in-law, Becky and David McGraw, of Henrietta and Claudia Semler, of Richmond; six grandchildren, Kyndra Semler, Rory, James and Seth McGraw, Amber and Hunter Riley; two great-grandchildren, Justus Scobee and Allison Acton; one sister, Phyllis Carter, of Lexington; two step-sons and step-daughters-in-law, Jeff and Jeni Lindley, of Richmond and Robert and Amber Lindley, of Richmond; and four step-grandchildren, Kiley, Owen, Taylor and Hannah Lindley.

In addition to his parents and first wife, one brother, Carl Riley, preceded Wayne in death.

Wayne was in the Missouri Army National Guard. He was a driver for Yellow Freight for 30 years before retiring in 1987. He was also a driver for Ray County Transportation. Wayne was of the Baptist faith. He was a member of the Richmond Masonic Lodge 57 A.F. & A.M. He lived in Richmond most of his life.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to either Henrietta First Baptist Church or to Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond.

Visitation is 7 to 8 p.m., Thursday, May 28, at Thurman Funeral Home, preceded by Masonic services at 6:30 p.m. Funeral services are 10 a.m., Friday, May 29, at the funeral home. Burial is in Richmond Memory Gardens Cemetery, with military graveside services by Ray County Veterans. Online condolences may be left at
