First tennis match suspended due to weather

Austin Crossland returns a serve for the Spartan tennis team during Wednesday’s season opener against Excelsior Springs at Maurice Roberts Park. Crossland and his doubles partner Chase Shipley won their match 9-7. However, weather played a role on a cold and damp afternoon and forced the match to be suspended with Richmond holding a 3-2 lead. The No. 1 through No. 4 singles matches were in progress when the match was suspended and will be completed at a later date. (Photo by Russ Green/Richmond News)
