It’s beginning to look at lot like Christmas

Numerous holiday activities this weekend

A visit from Santa, a holiday musical, homemade Christmas cookies, gingerbread displays are among the several event planned this weekend in Ray County.

Here’s a list :

Messenger Chapel’s parishoners are baking hundreds and hundreds of cookies for their 5th annual Homemade Christmas Cookie Sale for this Saturday, Dec. 6. For a mere $5, you can buy an assortment of Christmas cookies, candy and bread. Messenger Chapel is located at 601 S. Thornton St. in Richmond. The sale begins at 9 a.m.

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 5

From 5 to 9 p.m., The Settlement and Circle of Friends will hold its Home Tour in Orrick. Antiques and Christmas items will be for sale; proceeds to benefit the Orrick Community Center.

At 7 p.m., the Orrick Jam at the Orrick Community Center.  Country, gospel and bluegrass music.  For more information, call Rick 816-630-4773.

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 7 – SUNDAY, DECEMBER 7

At 7:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday, “Rented Christmas The Musical” will be presented at the Farris Theatre, 301 W. Main St. Sunday’s matinee will be at 2 p.m. All seats are general admission; adults $10, students $8. Doors open one hour prior to performance. Sponsored by Ray County Arts Association.

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 6

From 7 to 10 a.m., Richmond Shrine Club is holding a Pancake and Sausage Breakfast at the club, 400 Wollard Blvd., Richmond. Cost is $7/person.

From 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., the Lexington Christmas Bazaar and Craft Show will be held at Lexington High School. There will be lots of baked goods, hand-crafted items, gifts and raffles. For booth rental, call 660-232-3865.

From 8:30 to 11:30 a.m., Breakfast with Santa will be held at Richmond Middle School. Adults are $5, children under 12 are $4. Photos with Santa are $5. A silent auction will be held, along with specialty booths. Kids can shop at the Gingerbread Shoppe and have gifts wrapped for free. For more information, email bmarshall@richmond.k.12.mo.us.

From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., a Soup and Chili dinner will be held at Orrick Community Center. Chances will be sold on uniquely decorated wreaths donated by community businesses, organizations and individuals. Drawings will be at 1 p.m. Proceeds to benefit the community center.
