Nutrition program Saturday: It goes for pets, too: they’re only as healthy as what they’re fed

Canine nutritionist Aundra Hedges will discuss the importance of pet nutrition Saturday at  the Haute Dog Grooming Salon on Wollard Boulevard in Richmond.
According to Hedges, many of today’s pet ailments are caused by incorrect feeding and can result in skin diseases, obesity, arthritis, heart disease and other serious ailments.
Although there are many varieties of dog foods on the market, some of them will help your pet feel and look better, but others not only do not promote good health, they can actually be dangerous for your pet.
Hedges will not only address what to feed your dog, and the differences in dog foods, but also how and why many pet owners are unknowingly contributing to cause their pets’ allergies and other diseases, and the simple remedy to make their pets look and feel better.
The discussion begins at 1 p.m. April 26 at the Haute Dog Grooming Salon, 201 Wollard Blvd.  Admission and refreshments are free.  Contact Jessica Hockemeier, the shop’s owner, at 816-808-1656 for further information.
