‘True honor and privilege’ working together to educate R-XVI students

Editor’s note: This is a letter Superintendent of Schools Damon Kizzire distributed to Richmond staff to announce his acceptance of a new job.

As you know I did not receive an extension on my contract at the January board meeting, and resigned my current position for the 2014-15 school year at the February meeting, which the Richmond School Board graciously accepted.
It has been a true honor and privilege to work with you and for you in the education of Richmond students. There are many mixed emotions that I have over this, but I feel that it is best for the school district as well as myself and family.
The board is allowing me to finish out this school year, which I intend to do with dignity and diligence, but for the next school year and hopefully many  years to come  I will be working for the students and staff of the Kirksville R-III School District.
Thank you for all that you do with and for the students of this district.

– Dr. Damon Kizzire
Superintendent, Richmond R-XVI School District
