OHS girls stop Crest Ridge, Lone Jack

Madison Winters and Sam Fulte combined for 42 of Orrick’s points Saturday afternoon as the Lady Bearcats got past Crest Ridge 57-47. The road victory boosted Orrick, ranked No. 7 in the MBCA poll,  to 2-1 in the I-70 and 16-4 overall after picking up a 59-27 home win the previous night over Lone Jack.

Winters scored 22 points for Orrick in Saturday’s win, with Fulte adding 20. Winters also had 11 rebounds for the afternoon, with 9 of those coming on the defensive end. In addition, the Lady Bearcat senior had a pair of assists to go along with 4 steals. Fulte was 6 of 8 from the free throw line for Orrick and also had 9 rebounds for the contest.

Orrick trailed 11-10 after 8 minutes, but took a 23-18 lead at the half. After each team scored 12 points in the third quarter, the Lady Bearcats held a 22-17 advantage over the final 8 minutes to seal the win.

Madison Endsley had 7 points for Orrick with 14 rebounds – 10 of those off the defensive glass as the Lady Bearcats held a 29-6 defensive rebounding edge.
