Lady Dawgs, Norborne in H-C Tourney finals again

By Russ Green-Sports Editor

Once again, Hardin-Central and the Norborne Lady Pirates will face off Friday night for first place in the Hardin-Central tournament.

The Lady Dawgs bounced back from losing their first game of the season with a pair of runaway victories Monday and Wednesday.

Hardin-Central stopped Malta Bend 76-14 Monday, and then grabbed a 59-14 decision over Breckenridge Wednesday.

Malta Bend hit just three field goals and was 8 of 12 from the free throw line to account for its only scoring. Hardin-Central had five of its eight players in uniform score in double digits.

Olivia Ellis hit for a game-high 16 to pace the Lady Dawgs, with Maria Powell scoring a dozen points. Ashlyn Demint added 11, while Addie Paul and Maddi Demint chipped in 10 apiece. Mary Penny had 9 points, Johnna Gilfillan had 6 and Lisa Stellandottir scored 2.
