Richmond teen seriously injured in head-on collision

A Richmond teen was lifeflighted to St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City Monday morning after a head-on collision near Elkhorn Elementary School.

Collin T. Davis, 18, was driving eastbound on Highway 10, just west of Short Road, when his Ford Focus went off the right side of the road around 6:30 a.m. According to the Highway Patrol, Davis returned his car to the road and then crossed the centerline into the path of a vehicle driven by David C. Hamerle, 29, of Rayville, striking his pick-up truck head on. Hamerle was listed with moderate injuries and was transported to Liberty Hospital by Ray County Ambulance.
