Red built a big first-quarter advantage Saturday night on the way to recording a 44-20 victory over the Blue in the fifth annual Missouri 8-man Coaches Association Senior All-Star Game at William Jewell College in Liberty.

North Andrew’s Zachary Officer, who was named the offensive MVP for the game, scored three of his four touchdowns in the opening period as Red bolted to a 26-9 first-quarter lead. Officer ended the night with 95 yards on 17 carries and also scored a 2-point conversion. He opened the scoring with a 12-yard touchdown run and conversion just 1:49 into the night. The Red defense put points on the board with a safety before Blue got on the board less than a minute later with Dallas Greenland of Worth County scoring on a one-yard run.

Red came back with touchdown runs of 23 and 6 yards by Officer. Blue put the only second-period points on the board with 9 seconds remaining when Reid Osborn of Stanberry hooked up with Norborne’s Jacob Uribe for a 15-yard touchdown pass. Osborn ran the conversion to cut the Red’s halftime lead to 26-14.
