Lexington’s Big River Ranch hosts trail ride benefit for Children’s Mercy Hospital

Supporters of the hospital will host “Trail Ride for Children’s Mercy Hospital” July 20-21 at Big River Ranch in Lexington.
The event, sponsored by the Orscheln stores in Richmond and Higginsville, will also feature country, bluegrass, Southern Gospel and cowboy music, as well as as an antique tractor display, rodeo clowns, scavenger hunts, a silent auction, arena competition and prizes. Camping and horse rentals will be available.
There’s no admission charge, but organizers will accept donations to benefit Children’s Mercy.
Musicians expected to perform include Ho’ Made Bluegrass Jam, Itza God Thing, Melissa Petropoulis, Prairie Praise, the Heartland Band, Paul Asher and Country Music Makers.
Gates open at 10:30 a.m. both days and music begins at 11.
