RCCAA art show expands categories, viewing dates

Ray County Community Arts Association is expanding its Fine Arts and Photography Show – both in categories and date of public viewing.

The public can view submitted artwork as early as April 18 at the Friends Gallery, behind the Farris Theatre. Additional dates are 5 to 7 p.m. April 19-20, 25-27 and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 3-4.

Two new categories – stained glass and photography utilizing the software program Photoshop – will join these categories: charcoal, china painting, clay pottery, oils/acrylics, pencil/pen and ink drawings, black-and-white photography, color photography, sculpture, watercolor pencil, watercolor and woodworking.

Winners in each category receive $25; the people’s choice winner brings home $100.

Artwork, sculptures and photography should be submitted April 16 during the hours of 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Friends Gallery. Artists must be at least 18.
