Bearcat golfers shoot low in triangular loss

By Russ Green-Sports Editor

The Orrick Bearcats were able to finally get the whole squad together for a golf match Wednesday and they responded with one of its lowest team scores in a few years. Although Orrick dropped both ends of a triangular at Lawson, coach Mitch Comstock was especially pleased with his Bearcats 180 total at the Hidden Valley Golf Course in Lawson.

The Excelsior Springs Tigers carded the low-team round for the day with a 152, while the host Cardinals shot 174.

Four of Orrick’s scores were under 50, with Austin Meyer shooting the low with a 40. Tanner Werle carded a 47, with Mason Karnes just one shot off of that total. Jake Jennings shot a 45, with Tanner Wyse finishing with a 52.
