The Orrick Lady Bearcats will enter district play on a positive note after picking up a pair of wins in the final week of the regular season. The Lady Bearcats will begin Class 1, District 13 play as the No. 3 seed at Braymer with an 11-12 overall mark.

Orrick’s two I-70 Conference wins over Santa Fe and Concordia give the Lady Bearcats a 5-2 record in league competition. Orrick began the week with a 59-54 win at Santa Fe and closed out the campaign Tuesday with a 58-53 home win over Concordia.

“I was very proud of how some of our role players stepped up this week,” Orrick Coach Mitch Comstock said. “Shaina Cook and Makayla Easley really had good games this week. They did a lot of the little things that don’t always show up in the scorebook. Sam Fulte also had a great two games and really led us this week.”

Fulte hit for 18 points in Tuesday night’s victory over the Orioles. The Lady Bearcat sophomore connected on nine of her 13 shots as Orrick shot 45 percent for the night.
