Arthur “Bo” Samuel Carpenter

Arthur “Bo” Samuel Carpenter, 78, Millville, passed away, Saturday, Dec.  1, 2012 at his home. Mr. Carpenter was born Jan.  2, 1934, in Hockwold-cum-Wilton, England, the son of Francis Octavius  and Elizabeth Carpenter, nee Hudson.

Bo was a grocer in the Hockwold village store for 35 years and served in the British Army during the Korean War. On Jan. 19, 1972, at Downham Market, England, Bo married Sandra Kay Livengood of Warrensburg.  Bo and Sandra emigrated from England to Millville in 1988.

In addition to his wife, Sandra Carpenter of Millville, survivors include his four children; Toni Murton of England, Ray Carpenter of England, James Richardson of Washington and Chris Richardson of Ohio; three grandchildren, Zachary Richardson of Michigan, Thomas Carpenter of England and Finley Murton of England; and his nephew John Scott of England.

Bo was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, and his sister.

Funeral services will be at 4 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 8, at the Polley Funeral Home, Richmond.

Bo requested no flowers be sent and preferred that memorial contributions be made to the Richmond Salvation Army.
