Long, Woods earn league volleyball honors

For the second year in a row, Richmond senior Emma Long received all-conference volleyball honors. Long was one of two Lady Spartans voted to the MRVC East all-conference team by league coaches.

The Lady Spartan senior was voted second-team for the second year in a row. Junior Andrea Woods was named honorable mention for Richmond.

League champion Holden, which finished with a 10-0 conference mark on the way to a 20-7 overall showing that ended in the Class 2 quarterfinals, had three players named to the first team and one more to the second team.

The MRVC East all-conference first team: Kelsey Davidson, sr., Holden; Emma Dyer, jr., Higginsville; Taylor Anderson, jr., Holden; Nicole Hollingsworth, sr., Lexington; Megan Duffey, sr., Higginsville; Kortney Wilson, sr., Carrollton; and Morgan Schutte, sr., Holden.

Second team: Olivia Nevels, sr., Lexington; Erin Thoeni, jr., Carrollton; Kayla Kuhlman, fresh., Knob Noster; Emma Long, sr., Richmond; Alivia Kumm, sr., Higginsville; Natalie Oetting, jr., Lexington; and Hailie Wood, sr., Holden.
