Warrensburg dominates its own meet

p five spots Thursday as they easily ran past the competition to win the Warrensburg Invitational. Justin Persell had another good outing for the Richmond Spartans to help them to a fourth-place finish in the eight-team field.

Trent Classen led the way for the Tigers with the winning time of 16 minutes, 21 seconds, followed by five more Warrensburg runners. Persell placed 10th for the top Richmond finish with a time of 17:22, while Matt Tweedie covered the course in 17:59 to finish 17th. Wyatt Bulk turned in a time of 18:58 to finish 30th for the Spartans followed by Jesse Bulk (36th) in 19:16; Daniel Dehn (38th) in 19:20; and Ethan Turner (51st) in 20:02.

Warrensburg took first with 15 points, followed by Pembroke Hill with 66 and St. Pius with 87. Richmond ended with 124 points, followed by Odessa, Pleasant Hill, Oak Grove and KC Central.
