Spartans second at Cass Midway

Richmond placed two runners in the top 10 Wednesday to help the Spartans to a second-place finish at the Cass Midway Invitational cross country meet.

Spartan senior Justin Persell continued his solid season with a third-place finish with a time of 18 minutes, 4 seconds on the 5K course. Holden Shawn Conrad won the event with his time of 17:15. Matthew Tweedie placed sixth for Richmond with 18:25.

Also for the Spartans, Roy Branson covered the course in 19:36 (22nd); Wyatt Bulk in 19:44 (25th); Daniel Dehn in 19:56 (28th); Jesse Bulk in 20:45 (41st); and Ethan Turner in 21:15 (50th).
