Livestock, crop management meeting Sept. 11

Ray County University of Missouri Extension hosts “Management Strategies of Livestock and Farmland during a Drought Situation” at 6 p.m. Sept. 11 at the Eagleton Center in Richmond.

MU Extension livestock specialist Patrick Davis and agriculture business specialist Whitney Wiegel will discuss feeding and management strategies during the drought, nitrate testing and feeding strategies of high nitrate forages, strategies to improve low quality hays, incentive programs to help farmers deal with the drought, renovation of drought stressed pastures, fall forage and crop alternatives, crop insurance and economic aspects associated with the drought.
