Belated note of thanks to those who supported Saddle Club activities

With the year 2011 having come to a close, many of us are looking to the New Year, hopefully one to bring us all good health, good fortune and fun.
As fairly new officers of the Rayville Saddle Club, we know and understand that for many of you this is an overdue thank-you note. We sincerely apologize for this, but there can come a time when certain things are swept under the rug while others take precedence.
Our longtime president, Donna Vermillion, has been dealing with an illness since September. In the past, the officers and members of the club have relied so heavily on Donna’s presence and leadership that when she was unavailable, many of us were questioning where and who to turn to for advice regarding the club. Our new vice president, Diana Veach, has stepped up and is assisting Donna in many areas. Don’t be alarmed, however, Donna is here today and continuing to work through her illness. Please keep her in your prayers.
As officers of the club, we wish to take a moment to talk about what your sponsorship and support do for the club. With your sponsorship, you have helped us keep our entry fees to a minimal cost, allowed many of our members to compete for and win high-point buckles and helped our 4-H kids prepare for the Ray County Horse Show by allowing us to hold fun shows so these kids can practice their riding and showing skills.
The officers of the saddle club write this note on behalf of all our members. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for sponsoring all our horse shows and other activities, which include the Mushroom Festival Teen Dance and our awards banquet each November.
We look forward to your continual involvement in our shows and activities in the years to come. We hope all of you had a wonderful holiday season and wish you the best in the New Year.

– Donna Vermillion, president; Donna Veach, vice president; Becky Diebold, treasurer; D’Lisa Polly, secretary; Shirley Hasting, Sally Hason, Ted Perry, board of directors; Shirley Hasting, parade marshall; Dale Hasting, assistant parade marshall.
