With all the corruption in Raytown, why no legal action?

Dear Editor,

Why is Rayville disincorporating? One word: corruption. But not just in Rayville. The Incorporated Village of Rayville is the product of an agreement between the citizens of Rayville and the state of Missouri. That agreement has long been broken. The state of Missouri and its agent in Ray County refuse to make Rayville’s officers and appointees accountable to the law. The result? Nepotism, sunshine violations, stolen records, mismanaged funds, conflicts of interest, election fraud, outright theft and other crimes.
When was the last time a Rayville official was prosecuted for anything? What can be said of a government that ignores corruption? The Good Book says, “Who will rise up for me against the wicked? Who will take a stand for me against evildoers?”
– Sincerely, Art Morrill
