Wednesday blaze destorys garage

Harold Eisenhower, rural Orrick, and his family dog survey the damage to his detached garage/shed when it was destroyed by fire Wednesday afternoon. Fire companies from Orrick, Richmond, Wood Heights and Lawson were called to the blaze, said OFD Kelly Bilton who coordinated fire efforts at the scene. Eisenhower’s daughter, Sherry Pennington, said her parent’s lights were flickering and shorting recently. Farm equipment and a van to transport Eisenhower’s wife, Caroline who is wheelchair-bound, were destroyed. No one was injured. “I’m just glad it was only the shed,” Pennington said.
