Robert L. Heil

Robert L. Heil, 73, of Richmond, died at 8:41 p.m. on Thursday, Nov.  17, 2011 at the North Care Hospice House in North Kansas City.
Bob was born on April 2, 1938 in Hardin, to Martin and Clara (Hartman) Heil. He married Carol Jean Hamilton of Norborne, on Feb. 3, 1956; she survives of the home.
Bob was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Richmond. Bob had also worked as a tool setter at the Lake City Arsenal Plant for 7 years. He was on the Hardin and Oak Grove Drainage District for several years. He had lived in the Norborne and Hardin areas most of his life.
Additional survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Matthew and Beth Heil of Richmond; four grandchildren, Eric Heil, Angie Steele and her husband, Brad, Isaac Heil and Hayden Heil; three great-grandchildren, Brett Heil, Mackie Steele and Lochlan Steele; one Brazilian daughter, Liliane Baraban and her husband, Paul and family of Overland Park, Kans.; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Clarence and Bonnie Heil of Carrollton,  and Jay and Donna Heil of Carrollton.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by one son, Mark Heil; one daughter, Susan Heil; and one sister, Marilyn Benefiel.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Faith Lutheran Church in Richmond.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, Nov. 21, 2011 at 10 a.m. at the Faith Lutheran Church in Richmond. Visitation will be Sunday, Nov. 20, 2011 from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Burial will be in the Richmond Memory Gardens.

    Sharon and I are so sad for your famiy. Your father was one of the first persons I met when I started coaching in Hardin so many years ago. Bob was a fine man of integrity and always so proud of his family.
