Norborne leads CLAA honors

The Norborne Lady Pirates, who finished third at this fall’s Class 1 softball championships, dominated the CLAA all-conference squad voted on by league coaches. The Lady Pirates, after losing to eventual state champion St. Elizabeth in the semifinals, defeated Harrisburg 3-1 in the third-place game to finish the season 26-1.
Norborne’s Jocie Glaze was named the league’s MVP and was also tabbed the pitcher of the year. The Lady Pirates had two other players selected to the first team – Angie Hamilton and Cheyenne Baxter. Two other Lady Pirates, Kaylea Wood and Devan McCoy, were named second team all-CLAA.
Meadville also landed two players on the first team with Beth Crosser and Tori Baker, while Southwest had Courtney Roberts and Cori Locker named first team. Northwest and Hale had one player each on first team – Megan Speichinger for Northwest and Michaela Daniels for Hale.
