Dawgs in CLAA consolation

After dropping their first game of the CLAA Tournament at Tina-Avalon, the Hardin-Central Bulldogs bounced back Wednesday night with a win to advance to the consolation contest Friday night at 8:15.
The Dawgs fell to Hale 59-38 in the opening round Tuesday evening. Cody Baker had the hot hand for the Cardinals with a game-high 21 points, followed by Josh Jimenez with 16. Baker got the Cards started by scoring 9 of his points in the first quarter as they took a 19-16 lead.
However, the Bulldog offense struggled over the remaining three periods as it was held to single digits in each quarter.
Hale held a 34-22 lead after one half and took a 46-30 lead into the final 8 minutes. The Bulldogs shot just 32 percent from the field on 46 attempts, and were charged with 18 turnovers. Hale made 41 percent of its 62 shots from the field.
