RHS forces Panthers to fight for title

The Richmond Lady Spartans made Knob Noster earn its way to a share of the MRVC East title Thursday night. After a 20-point loss on the Lady Panthers home floor earlier this season, Richmond gave Knob Noster all it could handle in the rematch before the visitors grabbed a 47-37 victory.
Knob Noster and Holden tied for the league crown as they both finish the season at 8-2. The Lady Spartans wind up 3-7 in the conference and are 10-14 overall heading into district play.
“I can’t express enough of how proud I am of this team,” RHS Coach David Littrell said. “They are doing a great job of playing team basketball. They are playing with a lot of confidence, and it is coming at the right time of the season.”
The 10-point difference is a bit deceiving as Knob Noster scored its final 6 points from the free throw line to put the game away.
