Lady Bearcats escape upset bid at Plattsburg

After wrapping up the I-70 Conference championship a few days earlier, the Orrick Lady Bearcats did not play up to their normal standards Tuesday night, but still managed a 34-25 victory at Plattsburg.
Orrick will take a 21-2 record into tonight’s meeting against visiting Lawson.
The 34 points was the lowest offensive production by the Lady Bearcats since the I-70 Conference Tournament championship game in the first week of the season. Orrick Coach Mitch Comstock said his team had trouble getting started coming off a tough stretch of games.
“We didn’t play with very much energy,” he said. “We had a great week last week, and I think we had a hard time getting up for this game. The thing that is great about this team is that they always find a way to win. I was proud of how they battled and did what they needed to do.”
