Defense key for H-C girls

Three Lady Bulldogs scored in double figures Tuesday night to help lift Hardin-Central to a 53-37 victory over visiting Wellington-Napoleon.
The Lady Bulldogs hit 35 percent from the field, while the defense came up with 16 steals as Hardin-Central improved to 14-5 for the year.
Lindsey Arbogast scored a game-high 16 for Hardin-Central as she hit 7 of her 11 shots. The junior just missed a double-double as she pulled down 9 rebounds. Allison Oyler followed with 14 points for the Lady Dawgs, and Frankie Chilcutt did manage a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Arbogast and Megan Layman combined to get Hardin-Central off to a quick start. Arbogast scored her first 8 points, while Layman hit for 6 of her 9 points in the first quarter to help the Lady Dawgs take an 18-2 lead into the second period.
