Young Orrick spikers search for first victory

Even though her Lady Bearcats dropped to 0-3 for the young volleyball season, Coach Susan Rodenberg felt her team’s two-game loss Tuesday to Cass-Midway was the best outing so far.
The Lady Bearcats lost in two games to the visiting Lady Vikings 17-25 and 20-25.
“Even though the night ended in a loss, this is the best our team has looked all season,” Rodenberg said. “We are really starting to come together as a team”
Rodenberg added the Lady Bearcats got solid performances from Brooke Endsley, Amanda Rodenberg and Amy Isenhour. Endsley had 6 kills in a dozen attacks, with 3 digs and a pair of service aces among her 8 points.
Rodenberg had 6 kills in 14 attacks with 3 blocks and 5 digs, while Isenhour served up 11 points, including 6 aces, with a team-high 12 assists.
Cass-Midway won the junior varsity match in straight sets 25-17 and 25-16. Darian Eggleston had 9 points with 5 aces and 8 assists, with Jena Shaw adding 5 kills in 6 attacks to go along with 3 aces and 5 assists.
