Police ask for help in murder investigation

The Missouri Rural Major Case Squad is conducting a homicide investigation, in which the body of Monteze E. Murrell, 28, of Raytown was found in Lafayette County on May 28, 2008. His death was determined to be a homicide and the case will be reopened.
Murrell’s body was found last summer near Concordia with no head or hands. Investigators identified the body in November using DNA.
The Patrol is asking the public for assistance with this investigation. If anyone has any information about Murrell’s death, they are asked to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS (8477), the investigators with the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control at 816-622-0800, or the detective unit with the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department at 660-259-3392.
