Frank R. Wilmes

Frank R. Wilmes, 82, of Excelsior Springs, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2008 at his home.
Frank was born July 8, 1926 in Maryville, the son of Emma and Francis Wilmes. He served in the U.S Navy During WWII. He was in the trucking industry most of his life until retiring in 1989.
Survivors include: his wife Billie, of the home; one daughter, Stacey Wilmes Clay; two grandsons, Rick F. Wilmes and his wife, Jennifer, and Trevor A. Clay; one great-granddaughter, Kaylee Jane Wilmes; two sisters, Maxine “Mac” Moran and Virginia “Ginney” Suma; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In addition to his parents, one daughter, Deborah Ann; one sister, Emma Dee Carroll; two brothers, Robert and Bill; and son Richard R. Wilmes, preceded Frank in death.
Frank will be greatly missed by all that knew him. God Bless.
A memorial service to honor Frank’s life was held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 30, at Polley Funeral Home in Excelsior. Cremation followed the service. Burial will be at a later date.
Arrangements were under the direction of Polley Funeral Home in Excelsior Springs.
