Camp Kinnard athletes to perform at Globetrotters game

For the fifth consecutive year, Camp Kinnard Basketball will perform at the Harlem Globetrotters game.
The game and performance is scheduled for Jan. 2, 2009 at the Sprint Center in Kansas City.
“This year we’ve been asked to expand our performance to 10 minutes and to be the pregame performance,” said Rob “Robman” Kinnard, founder of the program. In the past, the group performed a short routine at halftime. The group was so popular that they were moved to the Friday evening performance two years ago and performed in that spot last year. The pregame show marks another compliment to the program.
Camp Kinnard Basketball teaches basketball skills to kids from preschool to eighth grade. “There is an emphasis on character education and respect for parents, teachers, referees and coaches, and that school comes first before sports,” Kinnard said.
“Our vision at Camp K is to equip our children through sports to become successful in whatever they puruse in life, by learning life skills in our clinics. And don’t forget – we have fun!” he exclaimed.
Ticket orders are now being taken for the event and will be available to Dec. 18. They may be purchased for $16 per person (discounted from $23) at City Hall in Richmond. Tickets will be available for pick up at the Camp Kinnard Christmas Party on Dec. 22, from 5:30-9 p.m. at City Hall Gym.
