Fire destroys Douglass School in Lexington

Lexington Firefighters control the blaze that destroyed an apartment building, formerly the Douglass School, on Friday afternoon. Lexington Fire Department responded to the call at 1 p.m. and left the scene at 10:30 p.m. with mutual aid from Richmond, Wellington, Corder-Dover and Ray County Ambulance.
The apartment building is considered a total loss and still is under investigation, according to a Lexington Fire Department spokesman. No one was injuried. (Photo by JoEllen Black/The Daily News)
