Donald Jean Thompson

Donald Jean Thompson, 80, of Knoxville, passed away Sunday, Sept. 21, 2008, at his home.
Mr. Thompson was born in Missouri Sept. 2, 1928, the son of Florence (Perry) and Lewis Thompson. He married Janis Dean Becker Dec. 24, 1948. Mr. Thompson was a farmer and a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include: two daughters and one son-in-law, Jennie Thompson of Cameron, and Cherie Palmer and her husband, Mike, of Richmond; five grandchildren and their spouses, Carrie Crockett and her husband, Karl, of Weston; Kellie Baker and her husband, Derek, of Cameron, Michael Palmer and his wife, Kim, of Smithville, Matthew Palmer of Gladstone, Joshua Palmer and his wife, Kimberly, of Liberty; and eight great-grandchildren.
Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by his wife Janis, his parents, and sister Marjorie Burgess.
Memorial contributions may be given to your local VFW, or the American Cancer Society. Flowers may be sent to Cherie Palmer’s residence in Richmond, or to the Polley Funeral Home in Richmond.
Cremation. A private committal service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Sept. 26, in Knoxville Cemetery. Close friends and family are invited to attend.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Polley Funeral Home in Richmond.
