Parks-Switzer Engagement Announced

Mr. and Mrs. Chastain Parks and Mr. and Mrs. Sam T. Switzer, all of Kearney, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Bree Ann, and son, Samuel Andrew (Drew).
The bride-to-be graduated from Kearney High School in 2001 and has attended Missouri State University and Maple Woods Community College. She is employed by Big V Country Mart grocery stores of Kearney and Smithville where she co-manages the family business.
Drew is a 1995 graduate of Kearney and received his B.A. degree in 2001 from William Jewell College. He owns and operates Switzer Handyman Service, serving Kearney and the surrounding Northland area, as well as assisting his parents in operating Switzer Homeplace Farms in Cowgill, Kidder and Kearney in Mo and Swan River, Manitoba, Canada.
Bree is the granddaughter of the late Edward and Louise Shadley of Osawatomie Kansas, and of Bill and Martha Parks of Smithville who operated a grocery business in Richmond in the 1950s and 1960s. Drew is the grandson of Harold and Betty Stephens, life-long farmers in the Cowgill area who now reside in Cameron, and of Tom and Lova Switzer, both deceased, who were life-long residents of the Cowgill community in northern Ray County.
The couple plans to be married September 22nd at the First Christian Church of Smithville.
