Two girls relays, two individuals state-bound

ODESSA – When Mackenzey Peach suffered an ACL tear last summer in high school softball, it left her wondering about her future in track and field. Flash forward to May 2022 and she is still competing in track – at least for one more meet. Peach, who graduated May 15 from Richmond, is part of the girls 400-meter relay team slated to run this weekend at Class 3 state competition at Jefferson City. The team qualified by placing second in 52.2 seconds May 21 at the Class 3 Sectional 4 meet at Odessa. Per Missouri State High School Activities Association regulations, the top four finishers in each event qualified for state. “It’s an honor (to go to state), … because I’ve been through so many knee injuries, … I never thought I would ever make it this far after that third knee injury,” Peach said.
