Orrick High School produces two track and field medalists
JEFFERSON CITY – Orrick sophomores Jonathon Harris and Jaxon Miller “did their school proud” last week at the Class 1 state track and field meet, Bearcats coach Kirk Thacker stated.
Harris and Miller each produced topeight finishes to bring home medals from the May 20-21 competition at Jefferson City High School. Harris took third in the boys 110-meter high hurdles and fifth in the 300 intermediate hurdles with his times of 16.06 and 42.83 seconds, respectively. Miller leaped 6.28 meters for fifth in the boys long jump.
“They went down to state and performed so well,” Thacker stated Monday via email. “The future looks bright for the next two years in their careers. They will work hard to get back and do even better. What a great experience for them.”
Harris just missed the cut for a triple jump medal, too, placing 11th.
