Ernest Wartenbee (07-07-2010)
Ernest Wartenbee, 83, of Excelsior Springs, passed away Sunday, July 4, 2010 at his home.
Ernest was born June 11, 1927 in Mosby, Mo., the son of Jess and Lavona (Martin) Wartenbee. He married Patsy (Ware) Wartenbee who survives of the home.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: three daughters, Cindy Montgomery and husband, Bob, Pearland, Texas, Rene Battagler and husband, Rickey, and Robin Curry and husband, Ty, all of Excelsior Springs; one sister, Nancy Crowley. Kansas City, Mo.; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; and one step-great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, one brother and sister-in-law and two great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be given to the VA Hospital, The ALS Foundation, or to Continue Hospice of Kansas City, Kan.
Graveside memorial services will be at 11 a.m., Friday, July 9, at the Masonic Cemetery, Excelsior Springs.
