William Clevenger, Sr. (07-02-2010)
William Andrew “Bill” Clevenger, Sr., 85, a life-long resident of Excelsior Springs, passed away Wednesday June 30, 2010 at North Kansas City Hospital.
Bill was born April 4, 1925 in Excelsior Springs, the son of Hugh and Trixie Belle (Crook) Clevenger. He married Margaret Elizabeth Clevenger April 14, 1950 in Liberty; she survives of the home.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: one daughter, Sally Sellars and husband, Chuck, Excelsior Springs; one son, Bill Clevenger, Jr., Excelsior Springs; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and seven brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, July 2 at Polley Funeral Home, Excelsior Springs. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday July 3, at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Providence Baptist Church Cemetery, Kansas City, Mo.
