Ryland B. Sims (06-25-2010)
Ryland B. Sims, 83, of Lexington, passed away Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at his home.
Ryland was born Dec. 2, 1926 in Independence, the son of John and Gertha McCorkendale Sims. He married Doris Orendor, Jan. 12, 1946; she survives of the home.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: five children, Jonna Spencer and husband, Kenneth, Hardin, Ronald Sims and wife, Donna, Sherilyn Braden and husband, Bob, Steven Sims and wife, Susan, and Shelley Maze and husband, Bobby, all of Lexington; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
His parents, a brother, David, and a sister, Jonna L. Clark preceded him in death.
Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Lexington, Preferred Hospice or the donor’s choice.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m., Monday, June 28 at the First Presbyterian Church in Lexington. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville.
Arrangements are under the direction of Walker-Nadler-Fuller Funeral Home, Lexington.
