Denny Mccorkendale (06-21-2010)
Denny McCorkendale, 56, of Richmond, died Sunday, June 20, 2010 at his home.
Denny was born March 21, 1954 in Carrollton, the son of Harold L. and Evelyn (Alexander) McCorkendale. He was reared by his Uncle Harold and Aunt Della Ballard. They all preceded him in death. He married LaDonna Thompson of Lee’s Summit, June 5, 2002; she survives, of the home.
Denny was a truck driver for Lake City Arsenal for 26 years before retiring in 2009. He loved to farm. He was a 1972 graduate of Hardin High School and lived in the Hardin and Richmond areas most of his life. Denny was of the Christian faith.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: one step-son, Lance Bowles, Independence; one step-daughter, Cammie Miller and her husband, Jason, Lee’s Summit; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Bob McCorkendale and his wife, Christy, Hardin, and Doug Cron and his wife, Anna Marie, Kansas City, Kan.; five step-grandchildren, Trent Miller, Trevor Miller, Tanner Miller, Alexis Miller and Caleb Bowles; and two nieces, Sarah McCorkendale and Alaina Cron.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Keith Worthington Chapter of A.L.S.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, June 22, at Thurman Funeral Home, Richmond. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 23 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Richmond Memory Gardens, Richmond.
Arrangements are under the direction of Thurman Funeral Home, Richmond.
