Elizabeth “Betty” Johnson (06-17-2010)
Elizabeth Lou “Betty” Johnson, 81, of Excelsior Springs, passed away Tuesday June 16, 2010, at Blue Ridge Nursing Home in Kansas City, Mo.
Elizabeth was born Feb. 3, 1929 in Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of William John and Sarah Elizabeth (Ball) Kersten. She married Lee Roy Johnson Jan. 19, 1989 in Miami, Okla., he preceded her in death March 16, 1999.
Survivors include: one daughter, Joyce Jenkyn and husband, Adrian, Gulf Shores, Fla.; one son, Mark Horton, Orrick; three brothers, Gene Kersten, Quememo, Kan., William Kersten, Liberty and Donald Kersten and wife, Ladonna, Kansas City, Mo.; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, her parents and a sister, Mary Alice Kersten preceded her in death.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the American Diabetes Association.
Graveside services will be at 1p .m., Friday June 18, at Cravens Cemetery near Camden. There is no public visitation scheduled.
