Clara Anna Claypole (06-11-2010)
Clara Anna Claypole, 75, of Orrick, died at 2:08 p.m., Thursday, June 10, 2010, at Liberty Hospital.
Clara was born Feb. 26, 1935 in Sugar Creek, the daughter of Louis and Clara (Luechmeir) Caswell. She married Shirley G. Claypole of Orrick on March 21, 1952; they were married for 58 years; he survives, of the home.
Clara was a homemaker and lived most of her life in Orrick. She was of the Christian faith. Clara was a cook at the Dukes II and Dommick’s in Richmond and also Danners and Vena Bells in Orrick. She was a volunteer for Salvation Army.
In addition to her husband, survivors include: three sons and one daughter-in-law, Rick Claypole and Alan Claypole and wife, Tobie, all of Orrick, and Randy Claypole, Richmond; eight grandchildren, Travis Claypole and wife, Tiffany, Danielle Werle and husband, Rick, DeAnna Woods and husband, Jamey, Ricky Claypole, Tony Claypole, Kristofer Claypole and Rachel Homan; nine great-grandchildren, Laken Werle, Nolan Werle, Ryan Werle, Preston Heady, Chanler Heady, Evan Woods, Paeton Woods, Annalyse McDermott and Jasmine Leija.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by four brothers, Bud, Don, Bill, and Richard Caswell; and three sisters, JoAnn House, Neva McKinney and Elaine Brizendine.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the National Ataxia Foundation.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m., Monday, June 14, at Thurman Funeral Home, Richmond. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Cravens Cemetery, Camden.
Arrangements are under the direction of Thurman Funeral Home, Richmond.
