Charles G. Worden (05-08-2008)
Charles G. Worden, 77, of Liberty, passed away May 7, 2008, at Ashton Court Care and Rehabilitation Center in Liberty.
Charles was born Feb. 28, 1931, in Orrick, the son of Jesse Grover and Dolly Maude (Coleman) Worden.
After the death of his father, Charles moved from the farm to Liberty where he lived until his death. He was employed by William Jewell College for more than 40 years. Charles was a member of the Second Baptist Church, Liberty and Liberty Kiwanis.
Charles loved his home in Liberty, visiting with his many friends and fellow employees. He enjoyed dining out and walking around the Square in Liberty until prevented from doing so by ill health.
Survivors include: his nephew and spouse, Jesse Ousley and his wife, Theresa, of Holt.
His parents and one sister, Ellen Beasley, of Calif., preceded him in death.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the American Diabetes Association.
There is no public visitation. Graveside services and interment will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, May 9, at the Providence Baptist Church Cemetery, in Kansas City, Mo.

Ami Melissa Helden and Jeanie Marie Gholson (05-07-2008)
Ami Melissa (Rose) Helden, 32, and her daughter, Jeanie Marie Gholson, 11, passed away Saturday, May 3, 2008, from injuries incurred in a car wreck in Ray County.
Ami Helden was born March 27, 1976, at Bass Memorial Hospital in Enid, Okla. Her daughter, Jeanie Marie Gholson, was born March 28 1997, in Blackwell, Okla.
Survivors include: Ami’s husband, Russell Helden, and children, Hollie Gholson, Corrie Gholson, Melissa Starks, William (Willie) Starks, step-sons, Justin Helden, Nicholas Helden, and Craig Helden, step-daughters Cynthia Helden, and Rachael Helden, and one step-grandson, Isaiah, all of the home; her mother and step-father, Rose Lee and her husband, Allen, of Richmond; her father and step-mother, Vernon Rose Sr., and his wife, Sally, of Texas; her in-laws, Walter Helden and his wife, Bonnie, of Lawson; one sister, Lenessia (Lisa Rose) Rowland, of Excelsior Springs; one brother and sister-in-law, Vernon Rose Jr. and his wife, Paula, of La.; step-brothers Allen Jr., Mark, David, Chris and Curtis Lee; 21 nieces and nephews; grandparents Ron and Jeannine Appel of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; paternal grandmother, Nellie Rose of Enid, Okla.; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
One sister, Nellie Mae (Rose) Harris, and paternal-grandfather, Elton Leroy Rose, preceded them in death.
The family will receive friends and family from 6 to 7:30 p.m., Thursday, May 8, at Polley Funeral Home in Richmond. Memorial services will immediately follow from 7:30 - 8 p.m., at the funeral home.

Gabriel Danan Sander (05-06-2008)
Gabriel Danan Sander, 9-weeks-old, passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Mo.
Gabriel Danan Sander was born on Feb. 23, 2008, in Warrensburg, the son of Danan and Cheyenne (Lee) Sander.
Survivors include: his parents, of the home; paternal grandparents, Ralph and Connie Sander of Excelsior Springs; Tammy Sander and Terry Mick of Lexington; paternal great-grandparents, Ralph Sander and Florence Williams of Richmond; maternal grandparents, Jesse Lee and Laura Smith of Knob Noster, Lisa Islas-Diaz of Mayview; maternal great-grandparents, John and Nina Harris of Bowling Green, Alberta Martinez of Knob Noster, and John and Julia King of North Kansas City, Mo.
Memorials may be made to the family.
Visitation was held from 4 to 6 p.m., Sunday, May 4, at Walker-Nadler-Fuller Funeral Home in Lexington. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, May 5, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lexington.
Arrangements were under the direction of Walker-Nadler-Fuller Funeral Home in Lexington.
John Shockley (05-06-2008)
John “Pops” Leonard Shockley, 68, of Lexington, passed away Sunday, May 4, 2008, at his home.
John was born Aug. 11, 1939, in Dover the son of Daniel and Eleanor Franklin Shockley. He married Linda Lewis Feb. 22,1992 in Lexington. John worked at Agco Corporation prior to becoming ill.
Survivors include: his wife, Linda, of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Terri Sue Cox and her husband, Bruce, of Lexington, and Mendy L. Patterson and her husband, Carey, of Osage Beach; four step-children; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Dan Shockley and his wife, Deanna, of Orrick, Charles Shockley and his wife, Adruth, of Orrick and Lloyd Shockley and his wife, Paulette, of Missouri City; and one sister and brother-in-law, Marcile Fisher and her husband, Donald, of Corder.
His parents preceded him in death.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Friends of the Friendless animal rescue in Lexington.
Visitation will be held from 7 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, May 7, at Walker-Nadler-Fuller Funeral Home in Lexington. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, May 8, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hardin Cemetery.

Dolores M. Weber (05-05-2008)
Dolores M. Weber, 75, of Maumee, Ohio passed away Saturday, May 3, 2008, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg.
Dolores was born Oct. 31, 1932, in Blairsville, Penn., the daughter of Henry A. and Edith (Lanfranki) Nicomede. On Nov. 8, 1969, she married Billy M. Weber in Richmond, Mo.
Dee was a devoted wife and mother and in her later years, worked at various gift shops. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi and the Red Hat Society.
Survivors include: her loving husband of 38 years, Billy; one son and daughter-in-law, Marquis A. “Mark” Weber and his wife, Sally, of Naperville, Ill.; and two grandchildren, Madeline Marquis and Allen Richard Weber.
Her parents and brother, Robert Nicomede, preceded her in death.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or the Zenobia Temple Transportation Fund.
Friends will be received from 3 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, May 6, in the Witzler-Shank Funeral Home in Perrysburg, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 7, at the funeral home with Rev. Dennis Huston officiating. Entombment will follow at Highland Memory Gardens in Waterville, Ohio.
