Daniel Wellman (02-08-2010)
Daniel Wellman, 69, Richmond, died at 9:39 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010, at Liberty Hospital.
Danny was born May 17, 1940 in Carrollton, the son of Henry and Martha (Smith) Wellman. He married Betty Joanne Hawkins, Norborne, on Deb. 19, 1959; she preceded him in death March 11, 2008.
Danny was a meat cutter for Faulk’s Supermarket, Carrollton. He was a member and Elder of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church “ELDoNA” in Richmond. He lived in Richmond most of his life.
Survivors include: one daughter and sons-in-law, Sheila Hicks and husband, Jim, Kearney; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Bob Wellman and wife, Freida, Carrollton, Kenny Wellman and wife, Sue, Kearney, twin brother, David Wellman and wife, Linda, Sedalia and Charles Wellman and wife, Norma, Carrollton; five grandchildren, Jewels, Lauren and Madison Wellman, Devon and Tyler Hicks; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, one son, Ricky Gene Wellman, three brothers, Marvin, Bill and Joseph Wellman, and half-sister, Marion Noah preceded him in death.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church “ELDoNA” building fund.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 10, at Thurman Funeral Home, Richmond. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 11 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Richmond Memory Gardens cemetery.

Effie Mae Greer (02-08-2010)
Effie Mae Greer, 89, Lexington, formerly of Henrietta and Richmond, died at 1:38 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010, at Ray County Memorial Hospital, Richmond.
Effie was born March 15, 1920 in Antler, Okla., the daughter of Michael Joseph and Sarah Tennessee (Martin) Sullivan. She married William K. Greer, Lathrop, on Sept. 4, 1937; he preceded her in death Oct. 10, 1980.
Effie was a homemaker. She was a member of the Henrietta Garden Club for over 20 years. She was an avid bowler, quilter and bird watcher. She was of the Christian faith and lived in Henrietta and Richmond prior to moving to Lexington.
Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Martin Dale Greer and wife, Marilyn, Chillicothe; two daughters and one son-in-law, Judith Ann Zilliox, Richmond and Donna Jean Swindler and husband, Bob, Lexington; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Mildred Duncan and husband, James, Kansas City, Mo. and Margaret Bahr, Topeka, Kan.; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, one son, William David Greer, three brothers, Charles “Jack Sullivan,” Emmett Sullivan and John L. Sullivan, three sisters, Cora Lena Findley, Maxine Benson and Ruth Wray preceded Effie in death.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 9, at Thurman Funeral Home, Richmond. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m., at the funeral home. Burial will be in Richmond Memory Gardens cemetery.

Jon Kevin Bryan (02-08-2010)
Jon Kevin Bryan, 46, Richmond, died Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010 at his home.
Jon was born Feb. 6, 1964 in Richmond, the son of James R. and Wanda (Blyth) Bryan.
Jon was a drywaller for the Painter’s Union Local 9 in Kansas City. A lifelong Richmond resident, he was a 1982 graduate of Richmond High School. Jon was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Desert Storm. He was a member of Henrietta First Baptist Church.
Survivors include: three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Chanda Williamson, Raymore, Janet Brown and husband, Steve, Richmond, and Jamie Judd and husband Lloyd, Clinton; four nieces, Melissa Carmichael and husband, Kevin, Tyna Morrison and husband, Matt, Blyth Williamson and Amie Skaggs; and three nephews, Clayton Brown, Bryan Williamson and Morgan Brown.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to either Henrietta Baptist Church or the Missouri Baptist Children’s Home.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 9, at Thurman Funeral Home, Richmond. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 10, at Henrietta Baptist Church. Military services will be conducted by Richmond American Legion Post 237 and Richmond VFW Post 4398. Inurnment will be at a later date.

Todd Jason Scott (02-08-2010)
Todd Jason Scott, 47, Excelsior Springs, died Sunday, Feb. 7, 2010, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Scott was born Jan. 11, 1963, the son of Ross and Bunnie (Ewart) Scott. He attended schools in Liberty and in California and was a lifelong member of the Liberty Methodist Church. Todd was an outdoorsman, enjoying fishing, hunting and shooting. He also loved riding motorcycles, working on computers, rock and roll music, playing guitar and composing music.
Survivors include: his parents; two sisters, Suzanne Scott, Excelsior Springs and Judy Heiffus, Independence; niece Stephanie Egger and husband, Mike, Egger, Independence; cousins, Dan and Doreen Ewart, Placentia, Calif., Bill and Peggy Ewart and Rich and Louann Ewart, Bedford, Iowa; godparents, Frank and Marianne Maudlin, Liberty; special friend, Rev. Bob Shane, Excelsior Springs; many other friends and relatives; and his little dog, Heidi.
Both sets of grandparents and his beloved Uncle Bill Ewart, preceded him in death.
Memorials may be made to Liberty Hospital Hospice, 2525 Glenn Hendren Drive, P.O. Box 1002, Liberty, MO 64069-1002.
Cremation. A memorial service will be at a later date with interment in the family plot in the Blockton, Iowa cemetery.

Jerry Lee Kincaid (02-05-2010)
Jerry Lee Kincaid, 63, Excelsior Springs, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010.
Jerry was born Oct. 1, 1947 in Kansas City, Mo., the son of Robert Lee and Mary Ann (Brown) Kincaid. He married Nanci (McClanahan) Kincaid Oct. 2, 1987; she survives of the home.
Jerry served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam war. He was a member of the VFW Post in Excelsior Springs, the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Freedom of the Road Riders and the Patriot Guard.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: one daughter, Tammy Morrison, Independence; one son, Charles Kincaid and wife, Sheryl, Orrick; three step-sons, Ronald Brown and wife, Shari, Fridley, Minn., Daniel Heaton and wife, Dorothy, St. Joseph and John Heaton and wife, Angie, Horton, Kan.; one brother, Roy Kincaid and wife, Sharon, Excelsior Springs; one sister, Deborah Hayes, Sedalia; 17 grandchildren; nine great-grandhildren; and numerous relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by one step-son, Anthony Brown and one brother, Stephen.
A celebration of Jerry’s life will be at 2 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 7, at Polley Funeral Home, Excelsior Springs.

Virginia Irene Forson (02-02-2010)
Virginia Irene Forson, 85, Cocoa Beach, Fla., formerly of Richmond, passed away Sunday, Jan. 31, 2010 at the Healthcare Center of Merritt Island, Merritt Island, Fla.
Virginia was born March 8, 1924 in Anderson, Mo. the daughter of Joseph Roosevelt and Mary Elizabeth (Skiles) Cook. She married Lyman Loral Forson Dec. 23, 1943 in Kansas City, Kan.; he preceded her in death Feb. 5, 1994.
Survivors include: one daughter, Mary L. Turner, Cocoa Beach, Fla.; two sisters, Ruth E. Hendrix and Norma C. Loyd, Richmond; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, one son, Lindell L. Forson; one daughter, Delores E. Martin; one brother, Joseph Millard Cook and one sister, Betty M. Cook preceded her in death.
The family suggests memorials to the American Heart Association or to Bethel Cemetery perpetual care fund.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, Feb. 5, at Polley Fuenral Home, Richmond. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery, Polo.

Rocky Wayne Anderson (02-02-2010)
Rocky Wayne Anderson, 31, Kansas City, Mo. passed away Sunday, Jan. 31, 2010 at his home.
Rocky was born April 24, 1978 in Lexington, the son of Gary Wayne Anderson and Shirley Lierman Clark. He married Kimberly Leffert Aug. 2, 2003 in Independence; she survives of the home. Rocky was a cabinet maker/installer for Paramount Wood Products.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: three children, Paige Lynn Blalock, Alexander Monroe Anderson and Gabrielle Marie Anderson, Kansas City, Mo.; his mother and step-father, Shirley and Roy Clark, Lexington; two sisters, Julie Reed Osman and husband, Randy, Lexington and Sonia McManus, Leavenworth, Kan.; and two nephews, Zach and Derek Osman, Lexington.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 3, at Walker-Nadler-Fuller Funeral Home, Lexington. Memorial services will follow at 7 p.m., at the funeral home. Burial will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 4, in Machpelah Cemetery, Lexington.

Iona G. Barker (02-02-2010)
Iona G. Barker, 53, of Richmond, MO, died at 2:35 p.m., Monday, Feb. 1, 2010 at her home.
Iona was born June 24, 1956 in Ray County, the daughter of Pete Whelchel and Mary Lou Silkwood. She married Arlie Barker of Missouri City; he preceded her in death on June 25, 2008. Iona was a homemaker. She was of the Christian faith and lived in the Ray County area most of her life.
Survivors include: one son, Shane Barker, Rayville; her mother, Mary Lou Silkwood, Richmond; two step-brothers, LeRoy Silkwood and Bobby Silkwood, Independence; three step-sisters, Laurinda Larkin and Tom and Charlene Silkwood, Independence, and Dottie Silkwood and Peter, of Spiro, Okla.; and eight grandchildren, Kelly Carter, Makyla Carter, Bryan Carter, Ryan Carter, Shane Barker, Jr., Caydence Barker, Jade Barker and Michael Barker
In addition to her father and step-father, Lavell Silkwood, she was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law Lashawnda Barker.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Iona Barker Memorial Fund.
