Cross-training athletes help Dolphins cruise in season opener

The Richmond Dolphin Swim Team’s season opener June 25 at Southview Pool provided some cross training work for a few high school student-athletes. One of those athletes was Grace Bozarth, a volleyball player at Richmond. Bozarth, who’ll be a junior this fall, helped the Dolphins win the four-team meet with 423 points – 193 points ahead of runner-up Marshall. Bozarth’s contributions included swimming on two relay teams for girls 15-18. They also included three individual events, also for girls 15-18: the 50-meter freestyle, 50 breaststroke and 100 individual medley. She placed second in the freestyle and breaststroke in 41.03 and 55.03 seconds, respectively; and third in the individual medley in 1:52.84. The breaststroke race went well, Bozarth said. “Definitely can’t wait to do the next meet and get a better time,” she said.
