A decades-long effort by the Richmond Rotary Club is continuing to make a global impact, as the organization marks 25 years of collecting shoes for children in need. The effort is part of the “Shoes for Orphan Souls” project, a partnership between Rotary District 6040 and Buckner International that has spanned 25 years.

An effort at Richmond High School is placing new emphasis on students’ futures, highlighting the decisions seniors make as they prepare for life after graduation. Richmond High School introduced Decision Day last year to recognize seniors for their post-secondary plans, giving students pursuing college or entering the workforce a chance to be celebrated in a setting similar to a traditional athletic signing.
