State-qualifying wrestler Ryan Sharp is already thinking about next season. As the Richmond News recently reported, Sharp placed fourth in the 144-pound division at this year’s Class 2 state boys high school tournament.

Ray County commissioners are pushing Union Pacific Railroad to replace the 216 Bridge after residents described safety risks, travel delays and restricted access caused by the bridge’s collapse. The issue was recently discussed during a public forum with residents and Missouri Department of Transportation (Mo-DOT) officials, where community members explained the loss of the bridge has affected daily travel and emergency access for families living along West 216th Street.

At Hardin-Central High School, one familiar presence spends each day helping students catch up on assignments, understand lessons and find opportunities to succeed both in and out of the classroom. That presence is Paraeducator Kristy McBee, who is now in her fifth year with the district and works in the high school’s special education department.
