Expecting the usual fare, customers who came to Joyce’s Family Restaurant for a late lunch Monday were served a helping of live country, bluegrass and old-time music with their cheeseburgers and fries.Kendra Walker, 20, and her sisters LaRae, 18, and Alisa, 17, are three-ninths of the Redhead Express, a high energy family band that will perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Leland Jones Country Pickin’ Opry. The Opry is in the country, between Richmond and Rayville off C Highway.
The sisters were out to promote their show, and they performed several requests, including an Andrews Sisters song, The Orange Blossom Special and a traditional country ballad that Kendra wrote. Kendra played guitar, LaRae the banjo and Alisa fiddled. All three sang, smiled and brought a taste of Nashville and Branson to Joyce’s.
