Two Richmond teens have placed in the Third Annual Poverty Walk Logo Contest. RHS junior Mitchel Walker, right, won first place and received $200 for his logo from 21 entries from a seven-county area.

Walker receives his check from Susan Hunter of the Missouri Valley Community Action Agency. This is Walker’s first time to enter an art contest. “I’ve never done this before,” he said. “It was a final for my art class.” He will have his logo displayed on the Poverty Walk’s documents, T-shirts and signs as part of his winning. Walker is the son of Wendy Battagler of Richmond. Jacob Hyatt of Richmond, won third place. (Photo by Brenda Jensen/The Daily News)
