William G. “Bill” Settle, 76, of Richmond, died Sunday, March 19, 2017, at his home.
Bill was born March 30, 1939, in Richmond, to William P. and Dovie Irene (Boyer) Settle. He married Sharon K. Cain, of Richmond March 16, 1962; she survives of the home.
Additional survivors include: two daughters and one-son-law, Micaela Settle and her fiancé, Dann Javner, of Richmond, and Melissa and Tim Phillips, of Richmond; two grandchildren, Caleb Phillips and his wife, Ashley, and Alex Phillips; and two great-grandchildren, Coy and Cree Phillips.
Bill was a 1957 graduate from Richmond High School. He worked as a lineman for Missouri Public Service for 40 years before retiring from KCPL in 2000. He was a member of the I.B.E.W. Union Local 816. He was of the Baptist faith. He lived in Richmond all of his life. Bill was known for his great laugh. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Richmond Education Foundation or to Crossroads Hospice.
Visitation is 10 to 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 22, at Thurman Funeral Home, Richmond. Funeral services follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial is in Todd’s Chapel southwest of Richmond. Online condolences may be left at www.thurmanfuneralhome.com.
