Ronald L. Kleinschmidt, 70, of rural Richmond, died Friday, Feb. 10, 2017, at Ray County Memorial Hospital in Richmond.
Ron was born Sept. 4, 1946, in Merrill, Wisc., to Lawrence and Carmelitta (Ament) Kleinschmidt Sr. He married Dawn M. Sobecke, of Milwaukee, Wisc., Nov. 25, 1980; she survives of the home.
Additional survivors include: one son, Ronald Kleinschmidt Jr., of Green Bay, Wisc.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Charlene and Duane Olthoff, of Kiel, Wisc., and Pamela and John Pearsall, of Minocqua, Wisc.; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Laurence and Marie Kleinschmidt, of Merrill, Wisc., and James Kleinschmidt, of Lake Tomahawk, Wisc.; one sister and brother-in-law, Vergean and Dennis Schmidt, of Merrill, Wisc.; and seven grandchildren.
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents.
Ron worked for Ray-Carroll for the past 16 years, where he was known as Ron Runaway Rocky. He was of the Catholic faith. Ron enjoyed gardening, fishing and baking. He loved to take his dogs FiFi and Lucy for walks. He also enjoyed working around the house with his wife. Ron lived in Richmond for the past 25 years.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Ronald L. Kleinschmidt memorial fund.
Visitation is 5 to 6 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 15, at Thurman Funeral Home, Richmond. Memorial services follow at 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Inurnment will be at a later date. Online condolences may be left at www.thurmanfuneralhome.com.
